Mike's guitar playing takes my breath away and leaves me
speachless. Ben and Mike together are like waves on the ocean.
You get hit by the first wave. It has far more power than you
realized and it sweeps you away before you realize what hits you.
Just as you recover, the other hits you just as hard and you have to
give in letting yourself be swept away.

I was lucky enough to get a stagehand position, for the TPATH
show in Madison 1999.
It was awesome getting an up close look at all of Mikes gear. I got to take all of Benmont's
Wurlitzers, leslies, piano, and organ out of their cases and set them up. While i was doing this I was admiring Mike's vintage Vox
amps, to the dismay of his guitar tech.
During the show I was pleasently surprised to hear Penetration
especially a 10 minute rendition of it. I am a guitarist and huge surf
music fan, I beleive that Mike's performance that night was the
most inspirational I have ever wittnessed. It is unfortunate that i
was'nt able to meet him and tell him in person.
Benmont was also great, and his keyboard tech was very
informative and was a pleasure to work for.

I'm gonna say the dang thing everyone else did. MIKE ROCKS!!!!
He is the most under-rated in the world and TP&HB are the
greatest. Mike's my fav though, (he's so cute!)anyway the band is
the greatest in the world for obvious reasons. i saw them five times
this summer, and i only wish i could of seen them a sixth.

Mike is a virtual genius. This man does not get the recognition by
the mainstream media that he truely DESERVES! Sure you hear of
Clapton, Beck, Page, SRV etc etc etc, but Mike is in a class all
his own. I love his cool no non-sense style of playing, his moves,
his choice in guitars and gear & just simply his style. Mike has
inspired me to keep working harder and harder on the guitar. I even
went as far as to personally modifying a Rickenbacker model 610
guitar to look just like Mikes early 60's black/gold 6-string RIC. The
man is a genius, after all, without Mike, Runnin' Down a Dream,
Refugee, Here Comes My Girl, A Woman in Love, You Got Lucky
etc would not sound the way they do if Mike was not part of the
Heartbreakers! Gotta go, I hope Mike sings another lead on the
next TP album!
