hey chinner,

I've been getting more and more interested in some of the better quality guitar copies out there...ie, Tokai, Dillion. I know Tom's tele is a custom made....Do you have any experience with Tokai or Dillion guitars? Does Mike own any nice copies? Is there a particular brand you would recommend that produces nice stuff for less money? I know it's tough to beat vintage Gibsons, Fenders, Ricks, etc....but my budget just won't allow those right now....thanks for your help!!

Posts: 177The Golden Circle/Tour Hi Chinner - Like Jerry, I'd love to hear how close they are to finishing the album. The article in Rolling Stone sounded like Tom's still got lots of songs running around in his head. How many songs are completed (to the band's satisfaction). Does Mike have any songs (that he wrote) on this album? How about the tour? Any information you can pass along about when it will happen? Thanks for any insight you can relay!

Marcia

Jaguars and Surfing

Hello Chinner:

I was wondering about MC's surf set up. I am guessing the Sde for delay and maybe a fender outboard reverb box & Also I am noticed he's playing the Daphne Blue Jaguar a lot. do you happen to no what year it is and what year the Shell Pink is ? our you using 10-38's on those guitar's I read lighter bass string where easier on the trem as far as keeping it in tune?

Many Thanks And hope all is well,J

p.s Are pyramid strings still in?

set up's

Hello Dan:

Chinner has been busy with Elvis and a highly classified operation. (I Think)

Here is some stuff he told me in the past. The last tour set up. in addition to his mainstay Vox ac30tb he added two line 6's for there effects. floor wise he has a Camel Toe and a SDE3000 rack delay. On the new album they acquired some Fulltone stuff (FullDrive 2) etc I'm sure there is more but that's al I can think of now. Sounding like MC it's all in the hand's weather he's playing a National or a Jaguar it's still sounds like Mike.

Hope this helps for now.

Thanks,BiancoCat

Ps Chinner I hope it's ok I tried to answer this.

Bianocat,

You are correct except that MC hasn't used an SDE3000 in a few years...he's using a Line6 delay pedal (the green one).....

P.S. Elvis say's "Thank ya vary much baby....you gonna finnish them fries".....

You beat me to it I debated whether to ask or not. Since they were anonymous bidders it wouldn't make sense to spill the beans. That plus it really isn't our business.

O.k. now that my disclaimer is out of the way:

Did Mike get Tiger?

I know we had a conversation about a year ago and you mentioned Mike's HamburGuitar was based on Jerry's. But there was a question and answer thing here a couple of years ago. Mike mentioned he was having a custom guitar made sort of like Jerry's, but he also mentioned he was trying to buy Jerry's back up guitar. That would have been Tiger.

OOP's I did not see the anonymous buyer part. as long as they stay in the USA that's fine with me. Paul Allen would be another potential buyer for his exspearian museum. mnmnm will probably never no :{

Congrats, LRed! Keep at it! Once you get the chords so that you can almost do it in your sleep, and your fingers callous up nicely, you can wail on "Free Girl Now". (I remember how excited I was when someone taught it to me....over the internet!)

What particular make of acoustic guitar did you buy? Guild? Takamine?...?
